Many have compared life to the journey of a spark that rises from the fire, drifts with the breeze, and finally fades to ashes.
Further analogies can be drawn using the facts that every spark stays burning for a different length of time, some sparks travel a long distance while others end up right back in/next to the fire, and of course some sparks spread the fire before running out of fuel.
However it seems that many people miss the fact that most bits of fuel remain in the fire. They burn fast and hot, adding their heat to all those burning bits around them to form the fire itself, and propel those special sparks out into the world when conditions are right. Much like humans, the majority stays right in the fire as part of the “society” – fulfills its role and dies out without ever being noticed as an individual at all.
Without the fire an individual spark will just smoulder and die where it is created. But with the fire they can soar along undiscovered paths and possibly even spread the fire.
Just fuel for thought.
